Project overview

As part of our Connecting World documentary series, we produced a film for Casa Guatemala, an organization supporting Indigenous youth in Río Dulce through housing, education & healthcare.

The goal was simple: shine a light on their mission, amplify their voice, and help them grow awareness and support.

What began as a passion project became a tool they still use for education and fundraising, reaching audiences far beyond their community.

Goal

We aimed to move beyond awareness into meaningful engagement, and especially, increase their funding efforts.

To do this, we had to develop a visual story that would:

  • Increase awareness of the organization’s work
  • Support education and fundraising efforts
  • Authentically represent the community and its impact
  • Showcase how the funds would benefit each young child at Casa Guatemala

Approach & Creative Vision

We approached the project with sensitivity, storytelling intention, and a focus on real voices.

Our process included:

  • on-location filming with students, staff, and community members
  • capturing both the challenges and the hope driving the organization
  • editing for emotional pacing and clarity of message
  • delivering a film adaptable for multiple uses and audiences

Results

The film became an ongoing tool for education and fundraising

  • Increased visibility and credibility for the organization
  • Expanded usage beyond the original scope, including events and outreach
  • Strong positive feedback from community stakeholders

Deliverables

Concept development, filming, editing, and distribution strategy.
