Discovering Nöge hébergement d’expérience, an amazing cabin in Quebec

Located just 35 minutes from Quebec City, and a little over three hours from Montreal, you can discover the serene beauty of Nöge Hebergement. This unique cabin is nestled in the valley, surrounded by the impressive mountains of Sainte-Brigitte-de-Laval. Nöge is currently the only place to stay on the 1.25 million square foot land. It has two closed bedrooms and one bed up on the very photogenic and comfy mezzanine. Everything is designed with attention to detail. Although you feel like you’re bathing in luxury, the whole space is still very cozy and homey. This beautiful cabin in Quebec provides all the amenities of home, with none of the stress. In fact, you can kiss all your worries away, because, at Nöge, the only thing to worry about is how you’ll ever want to leave this place.

Let’s set the scene up for you. Imagine waking up to birds chirping, butterflies fluttering in the air, and a peaceful breeze brushing the grass and trees surrounding you. With large windows throughout the cabin, this is the view that will greet you day in and day out. Not a care in the world, but what you’ll be having for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and where you’ll be enjoying each meal – in the fully decked out kitchen, on the patio in the comfy Adirondack chairs, or on the picnic table in the back yard. Tough choices indeed!

A worry-free cabin getaway from Montreal

In fact, when we talk about not having a worry in the world, we mean it! Maggie and Dominique have thought of everything for you. Never have we ever been to a cabin that has taken so much care in providing peace of mind to their guests, even when you’re in the middle of nowhere!

The kitchen comes fully equipped with a Nespresso machine, all the plates and cutlery you need, and then some. They provide a fondue set for romantic getaways, a raclette grill for escapes with friends, and so much more. One of our biggest pet peeves when it comes to cabins are when they provide so much, but not the basic ingredients you never think to bring, like cooking oil, salt or pepper. But not at Nöge! Here, you have it all provided, so you really don’t need to break your head.

They even provide life vests, bug spray, and sunscreen! Of course, towels and sheets are also included in your stay. And even if you are disconnected from society, you still have Internet access so you can stay as connected as you want to the world outside. So just pack your bags, book your stay, and enjoy it!

What to do at Nöge, during your summer getaway from Montreal

While at Nöge, there are a ton of things to do. Laid out in front of you are two small lakes. Feel free to go for a dip when the heat gets to you. Make sure you greet the frogs and birds that hang out there. And if you don’t feel like getting wet, you can hang around on the two hammock chairs that have recently been added. It’s the perfect place to read your book, or to contemplate life’s many mysteries.

Your hosts at Nöge also provide some great activities for you to do while you’re there. You’ll be able to enjoy some paddleboarding on the lake – which was a first for us. There are also two kayaks, so if you have friends around with you, you can race around the lake, or just row around enjoying the calming sun and breeze.

A short walk down the path between the two lakes, you will find a river that runs across the 1.25 million square foot land that Nöge cabin sits on. There, you can waddle around on the river, skip rocks or dip your toes in to cool down. The only recommendation we have for you there is to wear some bug spray! The mosquitoes and flies can be relentless.

You can also enjoy a dip in the hot tub that allows you to take in the impressive view that’s laid out in front of you. There’s also a fire pit where you can sit around enjoying the sounds of nature late at night.

6 things to around Quebec City, close to Nöge

We’re going to be honest with you. We had plans to go out and explore the attractions around Quebec City while we stayed at Nöge, but with the peaceful serenity that this cabin offers, we decided we didn’t actually want to leave it at all! So we kept our explorations to before and after our cabin stay. Regardless of when you choose to explore the surroundings around Quebec City, there are quite a few things to do around here.

1. Exploring Quebec City and its historic sites

If you’re missing the big city vibes from Montreal, make sure you stop by Quebec City. You can walk around the Old City, exploring the Grande Allée – the city’s most famous street, walk around the city’s fortified walls, explore the Plains of Abraham, or the Chateau Frontenac. You can also check out the city’s aquarium, the Basilica Cathedral Notre-Dame de Québec, the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec where you can admire the world’s largest collection of Québec art.

2. Discover the local produce on Ile d’Orléans

We had such a great time on Ile d’Orléans that we went before and after our stay at Nöge! We needed to stock back up on strawberries and wine! Some of the best local strawberries all around the province of Quebec come from Ile d’Orléans. It’s no surprise that we had to get our fill. In fact, if you go to Ile d’Orléans, you even have the choice of picking these scrumptious berries yourself.

Other great stops on the island include the Observation Tower (which gives you great views of the island and the shores across the St Lawrence River), Tigidou jams, and Isle de Bacchus vineyard!

3. Admire the Montmorency waterfalls

On your way to or from Ile d’Orléans, you can’t miss the Montmorency Waterfalls. You can spot them from a mile away! Here, you can check out one of the largest waterfalls in Quebec. You can zipline over them, check out the many vantage points, take the cable car, or just admire them from the suspension bridge that goes above them. They really are impressive when you’re close by!

4. Hiking at Parc de la Jacques Cartier

In case you need to immerse yourself more in nature, you can drive to the Jacques Cartier National Park, which is about an hour from Nöge. There, you can hike one of the many mountainous trails, canoe on the rivers, check out the fauna and flora, and enjoy one of the best national parks in Quebec.

5. Discover the local cuisine nearby Nöge

If you don’t feel like cooking in, there are a ton of restaurants near Nöge where you can chow down on some delicious local cuisine. Maggie recommended a bunch of restaurants and places to enjoy. And having tried one of them, we can vouch for her and say the rest must be just as amazing!

6. Check out the Chutes de la Chaudière on your way to Nöge

We feel silly saying this because we’re born and raised in this province, and have been to Quebec City countless times, yet, we just discovered these waterfalls, that you can see from the highway!

The Chutes de la Chaudière are located in Lévis, just outside Quebec City. These waterfalls are 35 meters high, and they’re the last part of the 185 km long Chaudière River that flows into the St. Lawrence River. You can walk to the foot of these falls (depending on the season), or you can hike one of the many hiking trails around, even crossing the 113-meter long suspension bridge that hangs over the river. The site is free to access, and we highly recommend you check it out. The falls are seriously impressive!

More reasons to love Nöge – An eco-friendly cabin in Quebec

As you already know, we love anything that is eco-friendly! From traveling in eco-friendly ways to reducing plastic to going zero waste, any little way to help the environment is a good one. That’s another reason why we loved our stay at Nöge! Who wouldn’t love staying in an eco-friendly cabin in Quebec?!

Here are just a few things that they do at Nöge to make sure they stay in harmony with nature:

  • The cleaning products they use are eco-friendly, a given nowadays.
  • They provide all the shower toiletries (shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner) in large bottles. This reduces the amount of plastic waste (when you compare to the small toiletries bottles given at other hotels).
  • They’re working with a biologist to see how they can merge the two lakes into one, and how to respect the space of the beaver who has built a dam on the river. Overall, they’re trying to enhance the nature around them.
  • They are committed to not over-developing the land they own. Even if they own 1.5 million square feet of land, they don’t want to turn the space into a crowded resort. Their goal is to keep the place a private haven away from crowds.
  • Over a hundred new trees were planted when they constructed the cabin. Not a small task considering the land they’re on used to be a golf course.
  • They recently adopted a few chickens that live comfortably in a coop by the cabin. You can go pick up fresh eggs every morning for your breakfast! Bon appétit!

We spent two nights at Nöge, and it was not enough. In fact, we’d move there in a heartbeat!

If you’re looking for an escape from Montreal, especially a cabin in Quebec where you can disconnect from the stressful world around you, and reconnect with nature, this is the place for you. Your hosts will leave nothing to chance and provide you with every comfort you could ever ask for right at your fingertips.
