Hi there!

We’re Carine and Derek, two Canadians in love with each other, the environment and this world. We left our old routines behind to discover all the wonders our planet has to offer. We want to inspire everyone to chase their dreams and leave a positive impact on Earth.

We’ve always done things our way, from our wedding day to our nomadic lifestyle, our everyday life and everything in between. Which is why, after a few years of working great jobs, we knew the 9-to-5 grind wasn’t how we wanted to spend our days, let alone the rest of our lives!

One fateful day, daydreaming as we often do, Carine wondered what it would be like to travel full-time and live out our dreams. Three months later, we had saved every penny we could, we quit our jobs, sold most of our things and started our journey!

For 15 months, we traveled through Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. We met incredible people, learned about exciting cultures and truly immersed ourselves in this life-changing experience. We soaked in as much as we could so we can share our journey with others who are looking to live the life they only dare dream of.

We have always respected our environment, doing what we could to reduce the negative impacts we have on it. It wasn’t until we started traveling full-time that we saw the scale of devastation that humans created. We couldn’t stand idly by and see others destroy the beauty we had yet to explore. We decided to use our voice to create awareness about more eco-friendly ways of living and traveling. We want to empower our community to live more consciously, to support local businesses and bring to light a more sustainable way of life.

Carine

In the couple, Carine is the planner and the worrier. She’s also the one with the crazy ideas, but the patience to research things in detail, and the determination to make them come true.

Traveling has been Carine’s passion since she was young. Her soul has always craved adventure and her feet can never stay in one spot long enough.

She’s passionate about the environment and animal welfare. She also has an eye out for beauty and is a strategic thinker. Can you blame her? She has worked for over 12 years in marketing, communications, and design, building local and international brands.

Derek

Derek is the go-with-the-flow, but the get-things-done guy. Give him a challenge, regardless of how big it is, and he will find a way to make it happen. He’s hard-working (he worked 2 jobs back home, because why not?) and is super-organized.

Derek wasn’t a big traveler when the two of us met but after one trip to Italy, Derek was hooked. Although he used to like staying in his comfort zone, now, he’s always ready to try something new.

Together, we are the ultimate tag-team duo. We constantly push each other to go beyond our limits – the best thing you can ask from your best friend and spouse. We complete each other in the best possible ways.

Along the way, we’ve picked up new skills and honed in on our passions. Together, we’re ready to share our journey and show how the dream life is within reach for anyone.
